Dave Curley & Mick Broderick
Having stormed the U.S Irish Festival scene for the last six years with the band SLIDE this duo of Dave Curley and Mick Broderick are now set to continue the legacy. With elements of Folk, Roots and the Traditional in the soulful voice and electrifying banjo of Curley, complimented by the mastery of Broderick’s driving bouzouki playing; this marks one of the latest magical combinations of Irish Traditional Music.
Dave Curley (Dathaí Mac Oirealla) heralds from Galway’s Corofin as a multi instrumentalist and singing prodigy, playing guitar, banjo, mandolin, bodhrán amongst other things along with his velvet vocals. A youth steeped in music led him to study the BA in Irish Music and Dance and the University of Limerick. Having performed with many acts such as Paddy Keenan and Rí Rá, Dave is much in demand from groups all over the States and Ireland.
Mick’s roots also go back to Galway and to one of the most well known musical families in the country; the Broderick’s of East Galway. Currently living in Dublin, Ohio, he grew up in Dublin, Ireland. Having recorded and played with various artists such as Gavin Whelan, Zoe Conway, Bill Whelan, Neil Lyons and Riverdance The Show; Mick continues to invigorate Irish music in his own unique way. With the band Slide both Dave and Mick have played at almost every major Irish Folk Festival throughout the U.S and Europe, and are now regarded as some of the finest exponents of Irish music worldwide. As a duo they intend to replicate that success. Catch ’em while you can.
